Public health: Cleanliness must to fight dengue fever, says UET VC
Prof Latif says banners and posters had been displayed across the campus to spread awareness

University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Vice Chancellor Fazal Ahmad Khalid on Sunday stressed the need for keeping the environment clean to avoid breeding of dengue mosquitoes.
“As a nation we must keep our surroundings and environment clean,” the vice chancellor said while leading a walk on UET’s Anti-Dengue Day. The UET Anti-Dengue Task Force had arranged the walk. Prof Anwar Latif is convener of the force. Deans, chairmen, administration officials and many students participated in the walk.
Fazal said all-out steps should be taken to eradicate dengue virus. He said the Anti-Dengue Task Force was doing its best to eradicate the virus and educate people in this regard.
UET Health Clinic chief Shahzad Ali informed the participants about dengue fever, its types, symptoms, treatment, prevention and elimination. Prof Latif said banners and posters had been displayed across the campus to spread awareness about dengue fever. The Higher Education Department had asked all higher education institutions to observe the day. It had asked the institutions to arrange activities to educate people about the virus.
The institutions were asked to set up camps and distribute pamphlets in this regard. All colleges had been asked to remove waste and debris from their campuses with help from the city government and the Lahore Waste Management Company.
