HARIPUR:
The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project will enhance the contribution of Hazara Division in the federal and provincial exchequers.

This was said by former minister of state for finance Omar Ayub Khan. H was speaking to lawyers of Haripur and Ghazipur bar associations on Sunday.

“CPEC will promote economic activity,” he said. “It will usher in a new era of development and prosperity. The region will contribute billions of rupees to the exchequer every year.

Omar Ayub voiced his optimism about the project, saying it would put an end to unemployment in the region.

“This will be done through a series of initiatives, including a dry port and industrial zones,” he added.


The former minister of state emphasised the need to provide all facilities to Hazara under this project. He also demanded the creation of Hazara Electricity Supply Company (Hesco).

“During my tenure, I managed to address the problem of low voltage and installed new supply lines to provide gas supply to villages and localities.” He vowed to continue his efforts for the welfare of the people

Speaking on the occasion, former speaker of National Assembly Gohar Ayub Khan dispelled the impression that the army could take over.

“I firmly believe that PML-N’s performance has been satisfactory,” he said. “The situation in Pakistan is quite different from that in Turkey.”
