Vice chancellors: Governor refuses to appoint ineligible candidates

PESHAWAR:
The academic search committee has declared several candidates for the position of vice chancellors of around nine varsities of K-P ineligible.

This was stated in a press release issued from University of Peshawar Department of Physics Chairperson Dr Yaseen Iqbal.

According to the statement, Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra also observed the presence of third division holders among the recommended candidates.

As a result, he refused to appoint them as vice chancellors of higher education institutes.

Earlier, objections were raised from academic circles when the committee ignored several eligible candidates and interviewed the ineligible ones.

However, the position of vice chancellors for varsities, including University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, will be advertised soon.
