Bakery sealed after guests fall ill at JI moot
BAHAWALPUR:
The district administration sealed a bakery on Saturday after several people fell ill from eating its chicken rolls served at a Jamaat-i-Islami conference earlier on Friday. The bakery was also fined Rs15,000.A spokesman of the Food Department said an all-parties conference had been organised by the JI where guests were served chicken rolls and tea.
He said the rolls had been purchased from Shangrila Bakers. He said after eating the rolls, at least six people fell ill. “The district health officer was informed about this,” he said. The spokesman said a district administration team had raided Shangrila Bakers near Farid Gate and collected samples of chicken rolls and sent them to a laboratory for analysis.
