Recipe: Chicken calzone two ways
Serve the calzones with your choice of sauces and enjoy!
Sometimes when you're eating pizza, you feel your cheese is dripping or some of the toppings plop. How nice would it be to eat your pizza like you could eat your sandwich, right?
Here comes Calzone, which basically has all that a pizza has, but the pie is sealed and nothing oozes out (of course some cheese does), but it doesn't end up falling off.
You can try it with any kind of pizza toppings you like and it will be a sure shot hit!
Ingredients
Pizza dough
Chicken breast -- 2, cut diagonally
Red onion -- ½, sliced
Black olives -- 1 tablespoon, pitted
Bbq sauce -- for base
Ketchup -- for base
For bbq chicken calzone
Paprika -- 1 teaspoon
Ground thyme -- ½ teaspoon
Garlic powder -- 1 teaspoon
Black pepper -- 1 teaspoon
For tikka chicken calzone
Tikka boti masalha -- 2 teaspoons
Method
Slit chicken breasts diagonally and rub the spices really well. Make sure you get it on every corner, just to bring out the flavour. Next, fry chicken breasts and cut diagonally. Then slice onions. Now, divide pizza dough into two equal balls. Roll out each and spread bbq sauce on one and ketchup on the other. Now for the toppings, add bbq chicken, black olives and onions to the bbq calzone and tikka chicken and onions to the tikka calzone. Finally, add mozzarella cheese.
Seal the calzone by pinching the sides inward. Bake at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.
Serve the calzones with your choice of sauces and enjoy!
