Chicken tikka burger
Follow these easy steps to make the perfect Chicken tikka burger
You know you are desi when you try to desi-fy almost each of your favourite food. I mean, when your desi taste buds are so used to eating spicy food, you don’t want to settle for a drab grilled chicken with salt and pepper. No, you deserve much more than that! This is why I came up with this extremely easy and quick recipe.
Ingredients
Chicken breast – 2
Chicken tikka masala – to taste (the more, the merrier)
Lettuce – chopped
Cucumber slices – four per burger
Mayonnaise – to line the buns
Cheddar cheese – one per burger
Oil – for marinade and for grilling
Method
Take two chicken breasts, cover them with parchment paper and pound with a meat tenderizer. This will open up the grain a bit, so flavour gets distributed evenly throughout the chicken. Now, in a mixing bowl, add chicken and chicken tikka masala, drizzle some oil over it and marinate for at least two hours.
Fry the chicken on a grill pan (grill pan is optional). Then add a slice of cheddar on each breast and cover with a lid. Let the steam build inside and melt the cheese all over the chicken. This adds so much flavour as opposed to adding a cheese slice while assembling the burger.
Now, line the buns with mayonnaise, and place some cucumber slices on it. Then add the chicken and chopped lettuce. Cover with the other half of the bun lined with mayonnaise. Serve with fries or your choice of slaw. Happy eating!
