Traders defy orders to close shop
LAHORE:
Rejecting the government decision regarding closure of markets by 8pm, traders in Lahore announced that shops will remain open till 9pm.
The traders made this announcement after a meeting held to estimate the losses they had suffered due to early closure of markets.
They said the early closure of shops is not serving any purpose as the loadshedding continues unabated.
The traders association president said Raja Hamid said that if the government will disconnect the power supply at 8pm then they will use their generators but shops will be closed at 9pm
The traders said that if local administration and police forced them to close their shops at 8pm they will protest against the concerned authorities and will resist this step.
