Towards greater self-reliance: ‘Pakistan needs to tap natural resources’
ISLAMABAD:
Any nation could only progress when it was independent of foreign reliance.
This will only happen if it capitalised on its own human and natural resources.
This was said by Federal Minister for Science and Technology Rana Tanveer Hussain, while addressing a one-day mini-symposium on “research and development through academia-industry linkages”, organised by the Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (SZABMU) on Thursday.
The minister said that no industry could fully develop unless it understood the demands of its consumers.
He asked the hospital management to liaison with the ministry for establishing links with the industry.
Hussain assured the hospital of the ministry’s complete support in its endeavours for greater collaboration between the medical sector and the industry for need-based research programmes.
