LAHORE:
A woman, who had been abducted from her house in Mandi Bahauddin, has been recovered, Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti said on Thursday. Her brother had married a woman, of Pakistani-origin in Spain, against her family’s wishes, he said.

Bhatti said 11 suspects including eight policemen had been arrested in connection with the case.

Shahzad Ahmed had married a woman of Pakistani-origin in Spain some time ago. The woman’s family in Pakistan had been against the marriage, he said. They abducted Ahmed’s sister from her house in Mohalla Islam Nagar, Mandi Bahauddin. The kidnapped woman was seven month’s pregnant. DIG Ahmed Mubeen monitored the investigation and managed to recover the woman within 24 hours. He said the Miana Gondal SHO and seven other cops had been involved in the abduction.
