Minor boys arrested for burning three puppies alive in India
The boys were arrested after a video of the incident went viral on social media
Eight minor boys were arrested on Thursday for allegedly burning alive three puppies in Indian Hyderabad.
"Eight boys, aged between 10 to 17, were apprehended in connection with the incident and all of them have been now produced before a Juvenile Justice Board (JJB)," said Mohan Kumar, official from Musheerabad police station.
The incident of burning the puppies took place in a graveyard on July 16 and alerted the police when its video went viral on social media.
A complaint was also filed by a rights activist, following which authorities took immediate action to arrest the culprits.
A group of minor boys had caught three stray dogs and after knotting them together, ignited the fire, Shreya Paropkari had said in her complaint.

"One of the perpetrators recorded the entire incident and is heard instructing and instigating the others to set them on fire. The recordings were recovered from a fish stall owner in Musheerabad," the complaint read.
Subsequently, the police registered a case under IPC Section 429 (mischief by killing or maiming cattle, etc) and relevant sections of Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act in connection with the incident.
