Juventus reject United bid for Paul Pogba
Italian giants inform English club that a fee in excess of £100 million will only be accepted
Italian champions Juventus have rejected a bid of £85 million from Premier League club Manchester United for French midfielder Paul Pogba, Sky Italy reported.
The Turin-based club have reportedly accepted the fact that the 23-year-old French international will leave the club this season. They have already informed English giants that a fee in excess of £100 million will be accepted, which will become the world record transfer fee, overtaking Gareth Bale’s transfer fee of £87 million to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
There were earlier reports that reigning Champions League winner Real were also interested in signing the highly rated midfielder, but were priced out after the Italian club revealed the actual cost of the deal.
Pogba, who joined the Italian giants in 2012 on a free transfer from Manchester United, currently has two years left on his contract with the club.
The Lagny-sur-Marne-born midfielder has already represented I bianconeri in more than 120 league matches over the course of four seasons, and scored 28 goals for the club.
