The chehlum of slain qawwal Amjad Sabri will be held on July 28, announced his brother, Sarwat Qadri, on Tuesday.
He was addressing journalists at Amjad Sabri's residence in Liaquatabad. Sarwat appealed to people from all walks of life to attend the Quran Khwani and Fateha Khwani in large numbers to send a message of defiance to the killers. The chehlum activities will start after Zuhr prayers and will continue through the day at Amjad Sabri's residence, said Sarwat. He added that a qawwali session will also be held after Isha prayers on Thursday. On the occasion, Talha and Azmat Sabri will also perform a qawwali.
Sarwat appreciated the people's unconditional support to the entire family.
He further added that people are well aware about the killers, who will soon be apprehended by law enforcement agencies. He remarked that they are satisfied with the investigations into the killings of his brother by the Rangers and police.
