Dubai royalty don't 'mind the gap'

One doesn’t usually see royalty when travelling on the London Underground but the ruler of Dubai and his son recently became exceptions to this rule.

Despite having billions in the bank, the Dubai royalty decided on the rather low-key travel option of the London Underground on a visit to the British capital.

In an immensely rare sight, Crown Prince Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum shared a photo of him sitting on the tube next to his father, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the Ruler of Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

They were dressed in casual clothes, with the Crown Prince of Dubai wearing a T-shirt and jeans as he posed for photos and videos on the busy Tube next to members of the public.

The Sheikhs boast a vast UK property empire, including numerous homes in and around London, and also own the Longcross Estate in Surrey, thought to be worth around £75 million.

The Crown Prince of Dubai is a keen social media user with more than 1.8 million followers on Twitter alone. He knows the UK well having studied at the London School of Economics.
