Violence in Kashmir: World powers asked to take note of Indian atrocities
Speakers urge Pakistan to take up the issue at international forums

Speakers have exhorted world powers to take notice of human rights violations and killings in Indian Kashmir.
While speaking at a solidarity rally in Muzaffarabad, they urged Pakistan to take up Indian atrocities, extra-judicial actions and target killings in the Kashmir Valley at international forums and “expose India’s real face to the world”.
The rally, which was led by former naval chief admiral (retd), Fasih Bukhari, and All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter leaders, was attended by locals and political activists and a large number of human rights and civil society activists from Pakistan.
The participants of the rally, who were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans “stop human rights violations in Kashmir”, “Burhan Wani is name of an ideology” shouted slogans such as “go India, go back” and “we want freedom”.
Bukhari said Kashmir needs world attention and it should be settled in accordance with the United Nations resolutions.
He urged Pakistan to raise human rights violations in Kashmir at the international level to “expose India.
The APHC AJK chapter leader, Altaf Bhat said that they were happy to see hundreds of civil society and human rights activists from Pakistan joining them to show solidarity with the people of Indian Kashmir.
“This momentum should go-on to put pressure on India to stop human rights violations in Kashmir,” Bhat said.
Kashmiri human rights activist Shaista Safi said that the people of Kashmir were thankful to human rights activists and civil society members from Pakistan who came to Muzaffarabd to express solidarity and share the pain of the people of Indian Kashmir.
Another human rights activist Maria Iqbal Tarana said, “Burhan Wani was not only a freedom fighter but also a source of inspiration for the youth of Indian Kashmir. APHC leader Pervez Ahmad said that the recent killing of civilians in Kashmir exposed New Delhi’s “anti-Muslim thinking and when they have to put down protesters in other states they use water cannons, while in Kashmir they use pellets to kill civilians.”
Another APHC leader Imtiaz Wani appealed to the world community to take notice of the recent killings in Kashmir and put pressure on India to come to the negotiating table to settle the Kashmir dispute.
