For women cadet college: Khatak orders establishment of team to select site in Mardan
Approves plans to swap sites of Jail park with land for judicial complex
PESHAWAR:
A joint team must be constituted under the chairmanship of Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan to select a site for a cadet college for women in Mardan.
This was said by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and mentioned in a handout issued on Sunday. He was addressing a meeting at CM’s Secretariat.
“The team will visit existing universities and other sites in Mardan for this purpose,” the document cited Khattak as saying. “A decision will then be made to commence work on its construction.”
Khattak also directed the relevant officials to devise a new design for all universities that will be established in the province. The criteria will be followed across K-P, he added.
Nod of approval
The CM also approved the proposal to swap the site of Jail park with land set aside for a judicial complex.
“The land set aside for Ameer Muhammad Khan Park should be handed over to Mardan Development Authority (MDA),” the handout quoted Khattak as saying. “The park should be established there.”
He directed MDA to immediately auction its lands and generate resources for construction of the park.
The CM also ordered the relevant authorities to obtain a no-objection certificate from the finance department to finalise plans to establish Mardan Water and Sanitation Company. He directed them to send him a summary of the project for final approval.
Civic sense
“Sites should also be set aside to establish dumping grounds for waste in Mardan,” the handout cited Khattak as saying. “All district administrations must also find ways to clear away encroachments and prevent profiteering.”
