After scoring a century in Pakistan’s first innings at Lord’s, Test captain Misbahul Haq was caught for nought after trying to go over the rope for a boundary in the second innings. Even though it was a poor shot by the 42-year-old’s standard, a recap of the images show that he was quite ‘unfortunate’ as well.

England off-spinner Moeen Ali, who claimed the Pakistan skipper’s wicket, mockingly pointed out on Twitter that fielder Alex Hales was not looking at the ball when he took Misbah’s catch, labelling the captain as ‘unfortunate’.

Hales’ facial expression cracked up his England teammates, with wicket keeper batsman Jos Buttler and right-arm bowler Stuart Broad reacting to the funny image on social media.

The fielder also laughed at the image which shows him looking cross-eyed and incapable of catching anything.

Earlier in the match, England finished their first innings on 272 as Pakistan took a slender 67-run lead. In response, the national team’s openers floundered again, while Misbah failed to score a single run.

However, Asad Shafiq (49) and Sarfraz Ahmed (45) steadied the ship, before Yasir Shah ended day three on an unbeaten 30 with Pakistan at 214 for eight.

Luqman Hafeez | 8 years ago | Reply If you take a picture of the face at the moment when the ball lands in the hands, you will always get this kind of a picture because when you position yourself for a catch, you don't set your eyes at your hands, you are always watching the ball. And the last moment when ball pass from its trajectory to hands, your eyes generally don't follow the ball because it could harm your concentration and position of your hands.
