Two Pakistani institutes among world's top 800 universities
Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad and National University of Sciences And Technology secure positions in the list
Two Pakistani universities of higher education have been ranked among the world’s top 800 universities by The Times Higher Education World University Rankings.
Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad and National University of Sciences And Technology (Nust), Islamabad are the two universities that made it to the top 800 universities in the world.
Six Pakistani institutes among world's top 800 universities
While QAU ranked 501-600, Nust ranked 601-800. The overall score of QAU for 'teaching' was 17.9, while Nust secured 21.4 points.
"This year's ranking includes 800 universities from 70 different countries, compared with the 400 universities from 41 countries in last year's table."
The Times Higher Education World University Rankings ranked California Institute of Technology, USA, on number one, followed by University of Oxford, UK and Standford University, USA.
Further, while only two Pakistani universities made it to the list, 17 Indian institutes, including Indian Institute of Science, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi secured various spots .
In March, six Pakistani institutes of higher education were ranked among the world’s top 800 universities by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a British ranking agency.
HEC announces university rankings
National University of Sciences And Technology (Nust) Islamabad, Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Lahore University of Management Sciences (Lums), University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore, University of Karachi (KU) and the University of Lahore are the Pakistani universities that made it to the top 800 universities in the world.
Nust Islamabad ranked 501-550 while QAU was at 651-700 followed by LUMS, UET Lahore, KU and University of Lahore at 701+.
