ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved on Friday a summary moved by the planning and development ministry, extending the upper age limit of candidates appearing in CSS examinations from 28 to 30 years.
The summary had been moved a few months ago, but the prime minister had declined to sanction the same, citing procedural flaws in the draft.

The upper age limit for serving government employees (both federal and provincial) has been increased from 30 to 32 years for CSS examinations.
This age limit was reduced from 32 to 30 years for government employees and that of 30 to 28 years for other candidates appearing in CSS exams during the Musharraf regime.
Dwindling prestige of the CSS
The summary was approved by the prime minister at a federal cabinet meeting held in Lahore.
