Bloodshed in Kashmir condemned across K-P
Funeral prayers in absentia offered for deceased in Mardan
UPPER DIR/BANNU/MARDAN/SWABI/BATKHELA/CHARSADDA:
The killing of protesters in Indian-administered Kashmir was condemned at demonstrations in various districts across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
In Swabi, leaders of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl held a protest at a seminary, Darul Uloom Mazharul Uloom, in Dargai. They said the killing was a brutal attack, adding the United Nations and other international organisations need to play their role in ensuring peace but were tight-lipped over the incident.
On the other hand, members of Pakistan Peoples Party Swabi chapter held a demonstration outside a news agency on the instructions of PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
The protesters vowed to struggle for the independence of Kashmiris and urged the government and international organisations to take action against the incident.
In Batkhela, a protest rally was carried out, starting from Batkhela Bazaar. It concluded at Malakand Press Club.
In Charsadda, the protest was carried out at Farooq-e-Azam Chowk, by JUI-F and Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat. While addressing the participants, JUI-F MNA Gohar Shah said the struggle of Kashmiris will not go in vain.
Moreover, protests were also held in Upper Dir and Bannu. In the latter district, a joint demonstration, by PPP and JUI-F, was held outside Bannu Press Club.
In Mardan, an absentia funeral prayer was held for those killed in Indian-administered Kashmir.
