Agitation Doctors strike at Services Hospital OPD
LAHORE:
Hundreds of patients at Services Hospital were deprived of consultation and treatment after doctors led by Young Doctors Association walked out of the Outdoor Patients Department (OPD) of the hospital as part of a strike announced earlier on Thursday.
Dr Hamid Butt, general secretary of the YDA at Services Hospital, said, “We will continue our strike. The government must withdraw the central induction policy (CIP) if they want us to resume work.”
OPDs at Mayo, Jinnah and Sir Ganga Ram Hospitals remained opened despite YDA’s call for strike. Responding to a question regarding this, Butt said each YDA chapter had its own strategy for protesting the policy.
“We are united in our stand against the CIP,” he said.
