The Central Multan Special Judge on Thursday remanded six officials of the district accounts office and the National Bank of Pakistan, Muzaffargarh, in custody of the National Accountability Bureau, Multan, for 15 days. They are accused of being involved in a Rs420 million NBP pension fraud case.
NAB Multan spokesperson Asima Raza said the suspects had been arrested from Muzaffargarh on Wednesday and were produced before the special judge on Thursday because the NAB court judge was on leave. The suspects will be produced in court on July 29. Investigating Officer Malik Waheed is investigating the case. NAB Multan had arrested four officials of district accounts office in Muzaffargarh including deputy accountants Yasir Rahim, Ghulam Hussain, and Pervez Iqbal and accountant Afzal. Two NBP Muzaffargarh officials, grade-II officer Shoaib Manzoor and head cashier Khadim Hussain, have also been arrested.
