Personal enemity: Traffic cop shot, injured in Bashirabad
The cop was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment and is in critical condition
PESHAWAR:
A traffic police constable was critically injured when unidentified armed men opened fire on him in Bashirabad area within the jurisdiction of Michni Gate police station on Thursday.
While speaking to The Express Tribune, Cantt SP Kashif Zulfiqar said Sher Ali, a resident of Sandu Garhi, was performing duty as the driver for the traffic police squad.
He added Sher Ali was on his way home on Thursday when unidentified assailants opened fire on him and fled the site. The police official said he was injured.
“The cop was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital for treatment and is in critical condition,” the SP maintained. He said Sher Ali had a long-standing dispute with his in-laws and it was not a terrorism-related incident.
