Convocation: 246 graduates awarded degrees

At least 246 graduates were awarded undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in arts and science while 65 students received silver and gold medals at the first convocation of University of Swabi on Thursday.
The event was held at Convocation Hall, University of Peshawar.
Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra was the chief guest. The ceremony was also attended by University of Swabi Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Noor Jehan.
While speaking to the participants, the governor said the varsity’s administration should ensure graduates have the necessary skills to work towards the betterment of the country.
“The academic structure of the university should be brought at par with standards observed at renowned institutions,” he said. “This should be done within a short period of time.”
