Junior Volleyball Championship: Pakistan win one, lose one on mixed day
After missing out on spot in 9-12, team will fight for 13- 16 place bracket

Pakistan’s junior volleyball team won one of their two matches in the Asian Junior Men’s Volleyball Championship at Kaohsiung in Taiwan yesterday and will now fight for 13th place.
The Boys in Green won their opening match against Saudi Arabia 3-0 with set scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-17. But in a classification match later on, Pakistan were defeated by Chinese Taipei 3-1 with set score of 12-25, 18-25, 25-23 and 24-26.

“We missed a lot of chances and our serves are also not strong as compared to our rivals’,” captain Muhammad Cheena told The Express Tribune. “We will now try to secure 13th place by winning the last two matches.” In the ‘semi-final’ for 13th to 16th places, Pakistan will face Bahrain.
Meanwhile, in other classification matches for top eight places, Japan defeated Kazakhstan 3-0, China beat Thailand 3-0, while Iran downed South Korea 3-0 and Turkmenistan edged out Sri Lanka 3-2.
