Contributions lauded: Reference held for Edhi, Agha Nasir
Recognised as pioneers of their respective fields
ISLAMABAD:
A condolence reference was held at the Lok Virsa, here on Wednesday, for the legendary philanthropist, Abdul Sattar Edhi, as well as the renowned broadcaster Agha Nasir.
Lok Virsa Executive-Director Dr Fouzia Saeed, other staff members and various senior officials attended the reference.
Saeed expressed grief over the demise of Abdul Sattar Edhi.
She stressed that folk traditions were not confined to art and culture, and that service to humanity was the very essence of those traditions.
“Edhi was a standard-bearer of our principles of selflessly helping each other. He was an upright soul who devoted his life to the service of mankind, without exhibiting any discrimination or prejudice, which earned him the trust and confidence of the entire nation”, she said.
Dr Saeed also expressed her sorrow over the demise of the celebrated intellectual, Agha Nasir and lauded his pioneering services in broadcasting, in Pakistan.
