Blaze: Fire erupts in two shops
KARACHI:
An oil paint shop and a furniture shop were gutted in a fire on Tuesday. An oil paint shop located on the ground floor of a two-storey commercial and residential building near Iqra University, Defence View, in Baloch Colony area caught fire. Fire tenders immediately reached the site and extinguished the fire while the police also reached the site. SHO Malik Saleem said the fire erupted during electrical welding in the shop, which engulfed the entire shop. However, the fire fighters were able to save the residential apartments and nearby shops. Similarly, a blaze gutted a furniture shop in Liaquatabad. Two fire tenders reached the shop and extinguished the fire. A fire brigade spokesperson said that the fire broke out due to a short-circuit.
