QUETTA: An accountability court in Quetta on Monday accepted extended the physical remand of ex-secretary finance Mushtaq Raisani and an accountant of Municipal Committee Khaliqabad Nadeem Iqbal for another 15 days.

Both the accused are being interrogated by NAB in the Balochistan mega corruption case whereby over Rs730 million were recovered from Raisani’s house, allegedly a small portion of the money he and his collaborators looted from funds meant for the Khaliqabad town.

Many officials of finance department got share in this malpractice and were equally involved in this case, a NAB official told the court seeking more time to interrogate the accused.

The counsel for Raisani, Advocate Kamran Murtaza told reporters that the NAB officials could not make any progress in this case despite 70 days and are just submitting written applications to extend the physical remand.
