Crackdown: 157 robbers arrested in June
As many as 122 cases were registered against those arrested for gambling

District police said they had arrested 157 members of 65 gangs of robbers during June. Rs7.4 million was recovered from them, police said.
Police also arrested 1,237 proclaimed offenders and court absconders.
As many as 323 cases were registered against 324 people for possession of illicit weapons.
Police said 516 cases were registered and 516 suspects were arrested during a crackdown on drug dealers. They said 10.86 kilogramme of heroin, 295.25 kg of hashish, 730 grammes of opium and 3,886 bottles of liquor were recovered from the suspects.
