RAWALPINDI:  

A petrol pump cashier was looted at gunpoint within the RA Bazaar police jurisdiction on Monday.

Armed motorcyclists intercepted the petrol pump cashier near Kalma Chowk and snatched Rs500,000 from him at gunpoint.

The cashier along with another colleague was going to deposit the sum in a bank. The petrol pump is owned by former Punjab law minister Basharat Raja.

The police have registered a case.

Separately, three robbers intercepted a woman in Officers’ Colony in Naseerabad and deprived her of Rs20,000 in cash, 13 tola gold ornaments, a mobile phone and other valuables at gunpoint.

Naheem Bhatti, a senior officer at the Attock Oil Refinery, lodged a complaint with the Civil Lines police that two robbers intercepted his wife on Adiala Road and snatched her bag containing Rs22,000, four mobile phones and important documents.
