Nabbed: Wanted terrorist arrested

While Nisar was gunned down and Gula was injured in the police encounter, Furqan had managed to escape

MANSEHRA: The anti-terrorism department in Hazara apprehended a wanted terrorist who had fled after attacking the police force on July 9 in Battagram near Torghar Road. According to a press release issued on Monday, the suspect, identified as Furqan, was arrested in women’s clothing during a raid at a house in Battagram. He was shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation. He was the member of a banned organisation and along with commander Hafiz Nisar and another accomplice, Said Gula, had attacked a police check post in Battagram, killing police officer Qabil Jan and injuring constable Ahmed Hussain. While Nisar was gunned down and Gula was injured in the police encounter, Furqan had managed to escape. “The alleged militant was also wanted for several terrorism cases,” the statement concluded.
