SHANGLA, PESHAWAR:
The link roads and connecting bridges were damaged when landslides hit parts of Shangla early in the morning on Monday.
The relevant officials in Shangla declared eight areas of the district as sensitive to rain and floods. The locals and tourists in the districts have demanded that the provincial government take measures to tackle with issues that inclement weather brings along.
The number of deaths caused by rain-related incidents has risen to 45 in different districts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. This was stated in a report issued by Provincial Disaster Management Authority. The report mentioned the toll between July 1 and 10 and read 25 people were critically injured due to the floods, while 20 houses were destroyed and 31 damaged.

PDMA Spokesperson Latifur Rehman told the media Chitral was the most affected district as 29 people died there while four were injured.
Moreover, he added, seven people died in Kohat while the same number of people got injured. Four died in Mardan, while six were injured and two died in Malakand and Swat.
He added all the sensitive districts of Malakand Division have been provided with additional tents, blankets and quilts which will be distributed among the affected people in case of an emergency.
According to the meteorology department, a new spell of monsoon rain has entered Sindh and Balochistan. He added more rain is expected to lash K-P in the next 15 days. After the forecast, alert was issued in different areas of the province where flood is expected to hit.
