During Eid holidays: Four killed on road in Chakwal
Forty-five others sustain injuries
CHAKWAL:
Four persons were killed, while 45 others sustained injuries in separate road accidents during Eid holidays here.
According to Rescue-1122 officials, two persons were killed, while two others sustained severe injuries, when two motorcycles rammed into each other near Mangwal Village on Yaqoob Ali Khan Road.
The incident happened due to reckless driving and speeding. Those who died include 68 years old Muhammad Safeer and Qamar Iqbal.
Later, bodies were shifted to Chakwal District Headquarters Hospital.
A first information report of the accident was registered at the Nela Police Station and investigation is under way.
Meanwhile, in a separate accident at Millat Chowk, a car hit an auto-rickshaw.
Due to collision, a 50 years old woman riding the rickshaw died on the spot.
Driver of the rickshaw also sustained major injuries including fractures in both his legs.
Meanwhile, a Rescue-1122 spokesperson said that the service received a total of 1,203 calls during Eid holidays, while only 46 were related to emergency.
