KARACHI:
Law enforcement agencies arrested on Sunday an alleged gangster from Lyari.

The accused was identified as Naeem Lahoti. A source in the Lyari police said the gangster was associated with the Uzair Baloch group.

The government of Sindh had offered a reward of Rs1 million for Lahoti's arrest as he was wanted by the police in a number of cases of targeted killings, attacks on law enforcers, attempted murders, extortion and narcotics dealings.

The accused was arrested during a raid conducted on a tip-off in the Hub Chowki area. He was later shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.

No law enforcement agency, however, claimed responsibility for his arrest.

In another incident, a man was shot dead in a firing incident in Korangi on Sunday.

Rana Shahid, 45, son of Rana Zia, was shot and killed by unidentified persons inside a graveyard in Korangi within the limits of Zaman Town police station.

Police said the deceased had arrived to offer Fateha at his relative's grave when unidentified armed robbers attempted to rob him, however, they opened fire after he resisted.

Shahid was shot multiple times and taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where he succumbed during treatment.
