Negligence Three-year-old dies at STH
MINGORA:
A three-year-old child died at Saidu Teaching Hospital due to the absence of ventilators in the children’s ward.
“My three-year-old daughter died owing to the dearth of facilities and negligence by medical staff at the hospital,” Saifullah, a resident of Mingora city, told The Express Tribune. “My daughter could have been saved if she was put on the ventilator.” When contacted, STH Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr Tariq Khan said, “The three-year-old patient was suffering from haemorrhagic measles and was getting treatment in the hospital for the last three days.”
He added the child died at the hospital, but the medical staff tried their best to save her life.
