Aisam's and Shvedova's match statistics were better than their opponents but their luck did not favour them.

Earlier, Aisam and Shvedova beat Marcin Matkowski of Poland and Katarina Srebotnik of Slovenia on Thursday in the quarterfinal to enter the semis of 2016 Wimbledon.

The Pakistan-Kazakhstan duo downed their opponent 6-3, 3-6 and 7-5 to make it to the last-four.

This is Aisam's best Wimbledon result as he had earlier been knocked out in the quarter-final in 2010.

Meanwhile, his best career result came when he together with Indian Rohann Bopanna entered the US Open final against the Bryan Brothers and lost.
