HAFIZABAD:
Two people drowned in River Chenab on Eid on Wednesday. According to Rescue officials, Mohsin Shah and his nephew Shakeel Ahmad had gone to Qadirabad barrage for a picnic. Witnesses reported that the two men drowned while bathing in the river. Rescue 1122 had not been able to fish out the bodies until the filing of this report. The district administration said that public should be careful and avoid bathing in deep water during the rainy season. It urged the public to be cautious when visiting the river and to follow safety instructions issued by the administration. It said a ban would be imposed on swimming in the river in the monsoon season.
