A group of 10 students from the Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) will leave for China on August 27 for a five-week study tour, stated SMIU vice-chancellor Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh on Friday. The group will be accompanied by a SMIU faculty member who has done his PhD from China. Dr Shaikh said that the students were selected on the basis of a written test and an interview. The host university in China, The Hainan Tropical Ocean University, is a public-sector university that will arrange for the lodging and boarding of the students and pay their tuition fee, he added. SMIU will make the travel arrangements, while the students will pay for their own living expenses.
