Indonesia whitewash Pakistan in Fed Cup

Tennis players suffer straight sets defeat to lose 3-0.

KARACHI: Pakistan suffered a 3-0 drubbing at the hands of Indonesia in their second tie of the Fed Cup underway in Bangkok. Pakistan, who defeated Kyrgyzstan 2-1 in the first match, proved to be hapless against the Indonesians.

Ushna Sohail went down to Ayu-Fani Damayanti 6-1, 6-0. Similarly, Sara Mehboob was outclassed in straight sets too. Mehboob lost to Lavinia Tananta 6-0, 6-1 as Indonesia clinched the match 2-0.

However, the humiliation continued as Jessy Rompies and Yayuk Basuki easily defeated Saba Aziz and Sara Mansoor 6-0, 6-0 in the doubles match to claim the 3-0 win. Pakistan now face Philippines in their third clash of the tournament.
