Police officers in fia: CJP to hear suo motu case on 14th
ISLAMABAD:
Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali has initiated suo motu action over transfers and postings of PSP officers in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). The case has been fixed for hearing on July 14. The action was taken on Tuesday on an application of a number of FIA officers, who requested that FIA was a specialised investigation agency dealing with white-collar crimes and required the services of experienced and trained officers. The applicants contended the transfers and postings of officers from the PSP cadre of the police had caused serious losses to career officers of the FIA. It also amounted to denial and disobedience of guidelines given by the Supreme Court in Criminal Original Petition No. 89 of 2011.
