Immediate response: Two Elite Force officials suspended

At least two officials of Elite Force were suspended on Tuesday and sent to quarter guard as punishment for subjecting a citizen to physical torture in Mansehra.
The officials have been identified as Waqar Shah and Abrar Shah. This was confirmed by Mansehra SHO Javed Khan.
While talking to The Express Tribune, he said a case was registered on the complaint of Babar Khankhel whose brother Musharraf Khankhel was brutally beaten and injured by Waqar and Abrar over a parking dispute.
Musharraf argued with the officials after they refused to let him park his car while he went to purchase items for iftar. However, the officials repeatedly thrashed him. Meanwhile, locals intervened and requested the officials to not beat him as he was bleeding.
The officials did not realise that a video of the incident was being recorded by a spectator. The video went viral and the victim’s brother registered a complaint.
In his report, DSP Headquarters Cadet Hafiz also held the two officials responsible for the crime. As a result, the DPO suspended the two officials and sent them to quarter guard for a week.
