Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman rejects media reports claiming Shawwal moon has been sighted in various cities
Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chairman Mufti Muneebur Rehman got furious Tuesday evening over flawed news floating on private TV channels that the Shawwal moon has been sighted in various parts of the country.
Rejecting all media reports, he got up from his seat and grabbed a phone set from a person sitting on one side and unplugged its cable aggressively.
Mufti Muneeb said the matter was of utmost importance and must not be taken casually.

He condemned the TV channels circulating wrong news, saying they were misleading the masses.
“Everyone here wants to be a chairman of the committee. We will announce our decision in line with the Shariah,” Mufti Muneeb said while leaving the room angrily.
