Agitation: ‘Anti-corruption drive after Eid’

The rulers lack courage to listen to and speak truth

LAHORE:
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Sarwar said on Monday the days of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s rule were numbered.

Speaking at a party gathering, the former governor said the PTI would launch an anti-corruption campaign after Eid.

PTI leader Umar Dar, Insaf Students’ Federation Punjab president Waqas Iftikhar Butt, and Insaf Tigers’ Force president Rashid Rehman were also present on the occasion. Sarwar accused the government of taking a u-turn on corruption. He said the incumbent rulers were not serious in ridding the country of corruption. The PTI intended to give them tough time in days to come, Sarwar said.

The PML-N does not want to eradicate corruption. Instead it wants the menace to go unchecked. The rulers lack courage to listen to and speak truth. The nation wants a true democracy and not a monarchy.” He said the country was mired in corruption.
