Boards discuss Pakistan-India series at ICC annual conference
Shaharyar Khan and Anurag Thakur have held discussions on possibility of resuming bilateral series at neutral venues

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan and his Indian counterpart Anurag Thakur have held discussions on the possibility of resuming Pakistan-India bilateral series at neutral venues, Press Trust of India reported on Monday.
According to a source inside the PCB, Shaharyar met with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president during ICC’s annual conference in Edinburgh this week and raised the issue of resuming bilateral cricketing ties between both countries.
“A proposal has been floated that it is about time both boards worked out a proper calendar for bilateral series at neutral venues,” said the source. “The PCB chairman has said that Pakistan will be willing to play in India when it was the latter’s turn to host the series, while Pakistan will host home series at neutral venues finalised by consensus.”

The source also said that both heads have agreed to talk to their respective governments to obtain clearance for a full bilateral series in late 2016 or early 2017.
Although Pakistan toured India for a short ODI series in December 2012, there hasn’t been a full series between the neighbouring countries since Pakistan toured India in 2007.
PCB ready to request ‘special fund’ from ICC
Previously, the PCB had tried to push the BCCI to honour an MOU signed between the two boards in 2014, under which Pakistan was to host India for a bilateral series in the UAE in late 2015. However, India did not receive clearance from the Indian government.
The source further said that Shaharyar also discussed plans to have a ‘mini Indian Premier League’ in the UAE by BCCI and hoped it would not clash directly with any of Pakistan’s home series or Pakistan Super League.
