Eid Holidays: LWMC staff to ensure cleanliness
LAHORE:
The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) staff will remain on duty to ensure sanitation on Eidul Fitr. The field staff will perform their Eid duties in three shifts. A zero-waste operation will be carried out on chand raat (the last Ramazan night) in Ramazan Bazaars and city’s major commercial markets. Arrangements will be made to ensure cleanliness at mosques and Eid Gahs. Around 300 customised waste bins are also being installed in markets ahead of Eid. LWMC Managing Director Bilal Mustafa Syed on Saturday held meetings with Albayrak and Ozpak administration and instructed them to ensure provision of resources for the effective implementation of Eid plan. Mechanical sweepers and washers will clean all roads during Eid holidays. An LMWC spokesperson said that staff was also being deployed at choking points during Monsoon. “The staff will be monitored from a central control room during Eid holidays. A helpline, 1139, has also been made operational to facilitate citizens,” he said.
