A district officer of Pakistan Baitul Mal was shot and injured in Haripur on Saturday. An official of City police told The Express Tribune Nayyar Abbas Jafri was on his way to his friend’s house when armed men opened fire on him and fled the site. As a result, he was injured and was shifted to Ayub Teaching Hospital in Abbottabad and was in stable condition. He said the incident occurred on Rehmania Road. He added Jafri was also a senior leader of Majlis Wahdatul Muslimeen and had no enemies. However, the police have registered a case and started investigation.
