Sabri's killers must be arrested, punished: Imran Khan
PTI chairman meets Edhi, Sabri's family in Karachi
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, who arrived in Karachi on Friday, has called for the arrest of qawwal Amjad Sabri’s killers, saying the assassins must be given exemplary punishment.
“Amjad Sabri, was an exemplary human being. I am extremely saddened with his death,” Imran was quoted as saying by the party’s Twitter account. “It must be investigated that why a person like him was killed.”
Accompanied by party officials, the PTI chief met Sabri’s mother, his brother and children, and paid his condolences on the tragic death. The qawwal maestro was shot dead by armed motorcyclists in Karachi’s Liaquatabad area on June 22.
The 45-year-old artist was travelling from his home to a television studio to attend an iftar transmission, when a motorcycle pulled up alongside his white coloured Honda Civic and the two riders opened fire, according to police.

“He [Edhi] was the person to donate for Shaukat Khanum hospital 27 years ago,” Imran said, adding Edhi has helped and inspired generations.
The PTI chairman wished him good health and prayed for his quick recovery.
Edhi was diagnosed with kidney failure in June 2013 and was told by doctors he would have to be on dialysis for the rest of his life.
Earlier during the day, Imran attended a fundraiser for his cancer hospital.
