SHABQADAR:
Two former members of peace committee were injured when an improvised explosive device went off in lower Mohmand Agency.

A political administration official of lower Mohmand Agency and a local tribal elder, Malik Ibrahim, confirmed the IED was planted in Dawizai, Mohmand. He said the explosion took place on Tuesday evening when his brother Khyal Badshah, and another person were passing from the area on a motorbike. The injured were taken to the hospital and are in stable condition .

The political administration started a search operation in the area and convened a jirga to discuss the attacks that were taking place.

Dawizai remained a militant hideout in the past. It was declared clear after military operation, but attacks on pro-government tribespeople and security officials frequently take place in the area.

The jirga was held in Baizai subdivision, Bhai Dag. It was addressed by tribespeople and officials of the political administration. The officials of law-enforcement agencies were also present there.

On the occasion, Baizai tribespeople vowed to support the political administration against militants and to never allow anyone to use their land to terrorism related activities.

In Mohmand, it was decided earlier in June that if any terrorism-related activity happens, the administration will seize the properly of people of that area.

In this regard, the political administration seized the property of people of Kado Kor and Bhai Kor where two security force officials were killed a few days ago. Moreover, a ban was imposed on the identity cards and passports of locals until they hand over suspects to the political administration.
