Chargo Kalay case: Enquiry officer changed for reportedly fake encounter
Initial enquiry was conducted by SP Headquarters, showing encounter took place in limits of another police station

The mysterious and fake Chargo Kalay encounter by Khazana SHO Rehmatullah has become more suspicious after the enquiry officer, SP Headquarters, was changed and the task was handed over to SP Rural.
The initial enquiry was conducted by SP Headquarters which showed the encounter actually took place within the jurisdiction of Pahripura police station instead of Khazana police station as claimed by Khazana SHO, thus making the case highly suspicious as the SHO claimed he was on a routine patrol when the encounter took place. No SHO would patrol the jurisdiction another police station.
There were no arms recovered from the deceased making it even more suspicious as the police party claimed the deceased fired at them and he was killed when the police retaliated.

“The enquiry was going in the right direction and against the Khazana SHO, but CCPO Mubarak Zeb Khan changed the enquiry officer.” said a high-ranking police official while talking to The Express Tribune. He ordered the enquiry be conducted by SP Rural instead of SP Headquarters.”
While talking to The Express Tribune, Ismail, uncle of deceased Saleem, said his nephew used to drink hasish and he was afraid of police too because he had been arrested before.
Therefore, he said, when the police asked him to stop, he tried to run away as he had probably a tola or 10 grammes of hashish in his pocket. “He tried to run away and police opened firing at him, killing him on the spot,” he said, adding the elected representatives were involved in the case and they had called off the protest on the condition that police would conduct a proper enquiry into the case and would bring the culprits involved in it to justice.
“If we don’t get justice then we would go for protest once again,” he said.
