KARACHI:
A judicial magistrate remanded on Tuesday a woman and two of her male accomplices into police custody till July 7 for the alleged murder of the woman's husband, according to Awami Colony police SHO Khalid Abbasi.
The woman, Yasmeen, along with Hanif and Shahid, was nabbed in a raid conducted on a tip off within the remits of the Awami Colony police station on Monday. "Yasmeen was married to Qaiser Abbas some seven years ago but she wanted to get away from him," Abbasi said, narrating Yasmeen's statement to the police during her initial interrogation.
In collusion with her accomplices, Yasmeen devised a plan to kill her husband, he said, adding that on June 25, Hanif and Shahid gunned down Abbas in his house near Singer Chowrangi. The police have also recovered the possible murder weapon, a 30-bore pistol. District East judicial magistrate has directed the investigating officer to submit a progress report on the next hearing.
