Pakistan’s former Test cricketer Jalaluddin feels medium-pacer Mir Hamza could turn out to be the star performer for Pakistan A on their tour of England as the bowler took four wickets against Yorkshire in a tour match.
Hamza, who is known for his ability to move the ball in the air both ways, is a highly rated youngster and Jalal feels the selectors should monitor him closely as he could be a good backup option in the Test series against England.
“I’ve followed Hamza’s career closely and he could be a force to reckon with in English conditions because he can move the ball both ways,” Jalal told The Express Tribune.

And Jalal feels the 23-year-old’s length will help him succeed in England. “Hamza pitches the ball up, which is beneficial in English conditions,” he added. “Not all bowlers can exploit these English conditions unless they bowl full. I don’t think Bilawal Bhatti can be as successful since he bowls short.”
Hamza was ably supported by Hasan Ali, who claimed three wickets, as Pakistan A bowled out Yorkshire for 246 in 75.4 overs and the visitors now stand on the verge of a big first-innings lead courtesy of some strong batting from their top order. Elliot Callis was the pick of the batsmen for Yorkshire with a solid 84.
Opener Jaahid Ali (64) was involved in a century stand with 26-year-old left-hander Fakhar Zaman (49) for the third wicket.

Babar Azam also impressed with 45 against a lively Yorkshire attack.
